i was just up there last week. its not in. there is some ice, but not worth the trip for most people. it will be fully in my mid to late dec. this seems to be a pretty good ice year so far, so, unless there is a bad warm spell between now and then, it should be soon. hope that helps. if you want, i'll pm you when i comes in. i'm living in the area now, so kinda my backyard. if you do make a trip there, drop me a line. always lookin for people to climb with.

hey, just realized you live in aztec! i'm moving to durango this week, working in Farmington for an ambulance service. any chance you need a partner? i've been talking to a few people in durango, but can never have too many partners, especially if you are into alpine and/or ice.

hey, drove over to eureka yesterday, stairway is in, as well as whore house hoses (not as thick as usual yet). a climber was hit by an avalanche a few days ago (after the huge storm), anyone heard about that? where is was, etc? i know the avy danger was pretty high for a few days, just wondering what slope gave.

I heard about that from a DMR EMT yesterday, but I failed to get details. Great news on the ice though, shame I wont be there to enjoy it, yet.

Skyward is very optimistic about it's reports, example; Ski light area, this may be the safest place to climb and most routes are in. Well I was there yesterday and only slip sliddin away had any appreciable ice, the rest were thin to none with no ice screw placement possible. We've received substantial amounts of snow these last 3 days so everything should be coming in, but you might want to wait a few more weeks at the least.
