I am likely going to the vally this October and am wondering where I should camp. My parents will be the ones camping there. I will be on a wall so it's mainly for my parents. I was thinking one of the pines campgrounds. What do you guys/girls think? Which one?

You may not have much choice. Yosemite gets booked far in advance. If there are spots available, Upper Pines is pretty good.

I'm not sure you should think about dragging your parents to Camp4.

Yeh, I didn't want to take them to camp 4. I checked the reservation site and upper pines has quite a few sites still open.

UpperPines is a safe bet. There really isn't much difference between Upper Pines and Lower Pines. The more important thing is the site itself. Look at the maps and find one not too close the bathrooms(lot's of foot traffic) and peferably one of the larger ones. You probably know all this. Which wall ya headed up?

El Cap solo! My dad has to be able to get away from work so the trip is questionable but looks good. I don't know which route yet. I'm only into hard aid. I am bored out of my life on stuff below A3. So I'm looking for something pretty hard. I love a challenge. Surgeon General Sure looks scary from the topo.

Yeh, they will be scared! My dad is afraid of heights. I'm going to check out something like Surgeon General but if it looks to hard I am going to do something easier like Lunar Eclipse.

Pines campgrounds are about your only choices. Camp 4 is like a leper colony to those who don't climb. It's also much less convenient than the drive-in sites at the Pines.
