I am new to this sport and a friend of mine who recently watch a rerun of Cliff Hanger told me that rock climbers are called "Rock Jocks."
A person who does fishing for non commercial purposes is called an angler? For rock climbers, what is the title/name?
Is that the nick names for rock climbers? Or are there many or we are just plain rock climbers? In different languages? Any difference between male and female climbers nick names?

monkeyboy is usually what my friends call me.... dont know if its a compliment to my climbing or they just want to point out that they think i'm crazy for wanting to climb walls....

Interesting. Guess there is no one common name (other than the scarcastic ones) for us but as rock climbers?
I would have thought rock climbers have another or a few nick names.

I've often been called "Jesus Christ Ren"
here is a prime example of when i was last called it:
two climbers out for the day. one is up on route, the other belaying. the one on route is 25' past his last piece of pro, a shitty #00 cam in a horizontal slot. the belayer then yells up to me...
"Jesus Christ Ren!"
"when are you going to put in some more gear?!"
my sister introduces me to her friends as "this is my brother...the eXtremist..." I still don't know how I feel about this moniker
