Trying to make some great CD's to climb to, so i thought people could give some ideas on there favourite songs that really get them modivated to climb, or songs that get them really pumped. I'll start off the list, Sinnerman by Simone, Felix da Housecat Remix I don't care if it's classical/rap/or anything inbetween, as long as it's good

I think climbing while listening to music would mess up communication between leader and belayer. Best music to chill to post climb with a beer and friends: Keller Williams, The String Cheese Incident, Carbon Leaf, or O.A.R.

If you need any more ideas lemme know. Ty Man left out Allman Brothers Band. Nice choice of String Cheese. Came up with a few more CCR, Dave Mathews, Gary Jules, Great Big Sea, Real Big Fish, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones just to hear Victor Wooten play bass-the man is insanly awsome (he is to the bass what Hendrix was to the guitar), The Vines, and The Strokes. I'm sure I can come up with more.

I train to a lot of different music, depending on my mood. right off hand: Nine Inch Nails Boy Hits Car Vast Tool Perfect Circle Pennywise Bad Religion Green Day NOFX Breaking Benjamin Chevelle Stabbing Westward Saves The Day Rage Against the Machine Rusted Root Grateful Dead Jurassic 5 Chemical Brothers Wilco Uncle Tupelo I could go on, but I think you get the point. Anything that gets me moving goes on the training mix.

In reply to: Gregorian Chants or anything by: Clay Aiken Ashley Simpson Now Gregorian Chant is the sh@#, but WTF? Clay Aiken or Ashlee Simpson? I distinctly recall that the OP asked about the best songs to climb to which would imply music and not talentless noise. After listening to anything by either one of those two I want to bash my head through a wall. I think if I heard that while climbing I'd end up doing a a la Vertical Limit cutting of the rope.

An appropriate song would be 'Moving on up' by M-People. Not a great song, however the lyrics are quite apt, particularly when one is attemptig the crux. 'Moving on up.... Moving on up... Time to break free... Nothing can stop me...'
