Russ Walling. Or Allan Steck. And I would not turn my nose up at the chance to climb with Clausti either. Hey Clausti, you in NorCal any time soon? DMT

Russ Clune, he was my inspiration to climb harder during a time when I almost quit climbing.

I'd have to say dave graham because he seems like he would bring some serious positive energy to the place. Having positive and motivated people is what its all about.

I agree with kafish, David Graham would be my choice, for the same reason. Oh, and Tori Allen cause, well...... she's hot, AND can seriously climb!! JC

Hugh Herr. Balls-to-the-wall hard case, double amputee, MIT grad, climbs stuff that even my eyes can't follow, much less my body.

In reply to: Clausti has come up a few times. I checked the profile and find no reference to anything. Who is this mysterious climber, anyway? My outsiders analysis of the clausti-drama: She barely legal and posted a now-removed picture of herself in a bikini a few months ago, and the guys are still horny over it. She also had a fp pic on a 5.12 sport project. She seems to be radically undecided about whether or not she loves or hates the objectification. Do ya ever start feeling like like an old lecher when you click that comment button? Say it's the climbing that did it for you. It's the new "unusually mature with a great personality".

No I felt like an old lecher about 15 years ago. They didn't have comment buttons back then. But I'm harmless really. I just like climbing with women as well as men. But if I am going to climb with a woman, I would, all other things being equal, prefer her to be a good looking one, like you for instance. Later DMT

Thanks melissa, now that you refered to the climber in the bikini, she is probably the one with the rope burn, no?

Later DMT My ego goes at 5.1, so I'll take that as a compliment, even if it was only vaguely supposed to be one. I can't argue with the importance of a good view. But I thought that I was off your list of people that you'd climb with for other reasons? I saw a rig that looked quite a bit like yours last weekend. Hope it was a sign that your ankle is healing up real good.

I enjoyed our climbing together. You're one of the tribe for sure. And you are cute. I even liked your convertible. But I didn't lech, not once! I was in the valley last weekend now that you mention it. Climbing even! That where you saw my little red wagon? My ankle dogs me daily. It is not healed and I cannot risk a fall, not even a short one. Climbing lists? You mean this thing here? This isn't a dig or anything, but to me, climbing partner is more than climbing once with someone. A partner's list for me would only have, um, bout 5 names on it right about now. It wasn't you at all, but every time I turned around there was someone on my partner's page I had never even heard of, let alone climbed with. That bugged me for some strange reason. BTW, I didn't stop deleting at the partner's page either. I guess I just don't like others deciding what I am to showcase, what my best posts are and what I am to shitcan. I am like a broken record about this... my work is mine to showcase, no one else's unless I give them leave. Cheers Melissa and happy climbing DMT

I think that spiderman would be the bestest climbing partner ever. No need to bring gear or ropes. And I would look super cool standing next to a guy in spiderweb spandex.. As for anyone else I just don't care unless they're a good belayer and kinda heavy.

In reply to: I enjoyed our climbing together [..] I even liked your convertible. But I didn't lech, not once! I agree all the way around. Climbing was fun. I miss my convertible. And, no leching occured. FWIW, I didn't have you in mind when I made the lech comment...it was directed at the salivating masses that have been amusing me here and elsewhere. If'n the party that I saw included you, you were on a very seldom climbed variation of a seldom climbed route at an otherwise empty crag on the very day that we decided to climb that route. We were pretty surprised to see you there. But as the first pitch looked like a swamp, we moved up the hill to take advantage of the lack of crowds on the old stand-bys. Maybe when cold, damp weather goes away, your ankle will feel better? It takes me 30 paces to walk normally when I get out of a chair these days, so that's what I tell myself, anyway. Good that you're back at it, even if it hurts. And by climbing list...I didn't mean the one here. I meant the real list of people that you'd rope up with. I don't care what you do with your list here. Actually, I think that it's too bad that people's pages link to each other. Everyone should get to write their own list IMO...but this is quite a drift. Sorry thread starters. Back to the original topic...If I could climb with any famous climber, it would probably the one that I actually knew and liked the best. But if I was going to have to pick a total stranger, I'd pick someone really old who's still at it...so that I could be amazed with their stories of placing old wool sox for pro and building anchors out of beef jerky. Fred Beckey?
