Having a keen interest in hiking, camping, backpacking, climbing, mountain biking, and general lolling about in the wildflowers most of my life, but never really had the right opportunity, or right people around, to take things to a higher level of adventure. Now in my late 30's and craving all the things I didn't do in my teens and 20's, I find myself in a place where everyone has little kids and prefers a 5th wheel to a backpacker's tent. At least I have a job that takes me to the woods, but even that can be wimpy.

Did a 2-day basic climbing course at Skaha in 2009, then went out a couple of times with another newbie. Can top rope and rappel, but don't ask me at what level (easy-peasy?). I'm still figuring out the lingo.
