Description

Don't let those welded-in pieces drive you nuts, use this advanced and versatile extractor which is designed for retrieving camming devices whose trigger bars are out of reach as well as for standard nut extraction. The notch in the end will locate the Nutter on the base of a nut whilst the hook is ideal for pulling a nut upwards or for threading the wire loop through.

The head indentation is a good depth (some tools are quite shallow or rounded). The trigger bar hooks tend to get stuck on the racking biner, but this problem is solved to some extent by using a smaller biner. As xp says, the hooks also give you a bit more surface to push on for stubborn nuts. Might be easier to open beer with it?

Works well, gets the job done, the flat back side with the two hooks offers enough surface to whack it with your bare hand and still get the fallen-on nut out of the crack! I haven't had to use the cam extraction feature yet, so no comment there. If you find the multiple hooks too annoying when the tool is racked, lay a knot with your keeper cord/prussik loop over each side next to the hooks.

It's the same as rockmaninoff says:the double hook on the end always gets in the way and i've never needed that double hook for out of reach trigger bars but it might come in handy some time. For the rest it's just like all others.

The redeeming feature of this tool should be obvious: you can use the dual hook to grab cam trigger bars and extract deep cams. The flip side of this feature is that the hooks are always getting in the way of the racking biner, causing it to "bind" instead of hang freely from your sling or harness. If you are really concerned about your small cams, tie off the trigger bars and you will accomplish the same purpose as this tool.
