Review 4 out of 5 stars

Camalots seem to be the smoothest cams I've used. The large head width is very confidence inspiring below your feet. These are my choice for .75 and up. Weight seems to be the only real issue, but the C4's have solved that. Great cams.

yeah, they're pricy and heavy, but i like them best. they place easily and the cams won't flip around (two up in the crack two down) like a single axle design.

Damned good. If you wanna go with one type of cam on your rack, one set for free climbing, then this is the one. It'll do it all, and especially the bigger ranges. As for the small sizes, if it doesn't work active, you can place it passive! Sweet stuff

The Camalots are definitely the best cams that I own. Wider range than the metolius and rock empire cams. More stable as well. The new C4's are much lighter and easier to handle than the old style camalots. 2 Gripes: They have a very wide profile in the smaller sizes which means they probally will not fit where a smaller alien would. The other complaint is the overlap between sizes 2 & 3. I carry a #4 rock empire on my rack due to this deficiency.
