Don`t like it never have and never will. This piece of gear will shred ropes given any sort of shock load. Note the instructions "care must be taken to sensure that the Tibloc engages the rope". When is that ever gunna happen in an emergency. Go out and get a real ascender and leave this worthless piece of crap alone. Sure there are some that like it and good for them and if you really do insist on using this gear then try it at home with multiple backups to find out the dos and don`ts of the Tibloc. I would recommend this one for only the most experienced of gear freaks. Definitely not for beginners. Google up the Tibloc threads both here and over on rec.climbing to really get an understanding of the controversy that this device has generated in the climbing community.

A must have. It Can be used for sim climbing, rescue, ascenders, etc.
The price and weight make it a must on your rack.

I love it! So light and compact, and easy to use. Never have and excuse to be without ascenders again! The only downside is no springs to make it grab the rope. But the pro's definately outweigh the cons.
