Mad Rock pad 1 out of 5 stars

Review by: Sirsendalot, 2007-11-11

More like sad pad. Mad rock just sells there gear based on price. They have no inovation and will probabley sell there pads to wal-mart in the near future.

I have been happy with this pad since I bought it. It is great for traverses and high problems since it covers such a large area -- even folded. It has been holding up fine, however I do not abuse my gear by any means, so it hasn't been punished much. However, it takes up a ton of space to store and haul around: good luck squeezing through boulders and trees with this on your back. I live in an apartment and after several months of storage in a closet, we reverted to using it as an impromptu couch when we have people over. You can also use it as a sleeping pad if you camp much. Overall a great pad, just huge!

I have no complaints about this pad at all, it is holding up great and the price can't be beat. As all my friends say having it there really puts your mind at ease, you know if you miss that big dyno you have a nice soft landing below.

Its a great big target and I love it for solo bouldering. But, it doesn't seem to be holding up the greatest. The stitching is coming apart in a few areas and the shouler strap is half ripped off from the pad sliding a little on a fall.
