acopa spectre review 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: dpf128, 2007-09-10

This is an odd shoe...it has the feel of a slipper (like the 5.10 Moc when broken in), but retains comfort, edging-ability, and support especially during longer routes...great for onsight attempts. The rubber is the real deal...I have yet to be disappointed in light of all the other new compounds available (that I also own). I have a wide fore-foot and 9-9.5 street shoe; I wear an 8 in the new Anasazi velcro and an 8 in the red Mocs...an 8.5 Spectre fits well whereas an 8 is too small. Truely an impressive shoe that is well suited to all but the most specific moves. Unfortunately, Acopa stuff is hard to find locally...I ended up ordering them direct.

I feel like my feet are performance machines with these shoes on. micro edging perfection. heel hooks feel secure. comfy and stylish too.

I sent an email from Acopa's website, and Mr. Bachar recommended this model to me, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. He sent me so much info I really felt like I was making a fully informed decision. even where to buy them in my area.
great product, great company.

I love these shoes. I bought them to replace my worn out Anasazi lace ups and am extremely happy I went with these instead of another pair of Anasazi's. They're shaped for more of a medium to wide foot. I've worn several pairs of Anasazi lace ups and velcros as well as a pair of La Sportiva Miuras and these things edge just as well if not better then those. I've found the Acopa rubber to be stiff competition for 5.10 Stealth and Evolv Trax rubber and blows everything else away. The canvas lining kept the size and shape of the shoe so there is next to no stretch, so size accordingly. And the last thing I'll say about these is that they are probably the most comfortable pair of shoe I have worn. I'd highly recommend these shoe to anyone looking for a good high performance sport or bouldering shoe.

My only complaint is that I can't find Acopa shoes in any of my local gear shops. I've bought these and the B3's and had to order both direct from Acopa.
