This is a class 4 scramble up the tourist route of Mount Temple--elevation @12,000 feet, July 22, 2004. In the background you can see Valley of the 10 peaks (near Morraine Lake). Didn't get any good shots on top because it was snowing but this shot I took of my brother shows the terrain about halfway up.

Out of the lower couloir and above the Dolphin. At the start of the 14 pitches of rock. Good time to be starting the upper headwall.

Pondering the route ahead. Later to take a 25' fall onto a fixed pin, smash a hip and a camera against the wall. All on a sketch belay. Gotta love the rockies.

Hanging out at the base, waiting for weather to clear. Three attempts later it cleared and we got the green light from the mountain gods.

When hiking up to temple this is the view back of the teal lake and Mt.Fay.

Looking back at the ridge with the infamous Black towers below us. Dan and I climbed the east ridge in 12hours, Car to Car!

Two climbers prepare to descend the easy way off Temple after getting in some nice views on this huge peak.

Now this is a real summit photo! A group of Korean climbers do it up right on a summer knock-off of Canadian classics- the summit of Temple they said was the best.

The easy scramble up the west ridge is also the mountains main descent route for hard climbs. A ice pick may be good for the top as it is always has some snow and huge cornices, also a bit of hands and feet climbing is used in one spot enroute. It goes from the left col and up the left sunlit side to the top.
