Rob Hynes on the crux of Debillof 1988

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Rob Hynes on the crux of Debillof 1988

Great climb, easy access from the top. This was in 1998. Great local camping where you can meet climbing partners. Pick a Brit if you really want to climb some crazy stuff.

Rob past the crux on Debillof

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Rob past the crux on Debillof

The routes on this wall are the best quality limestone. Rap in and lead out the last few pitches all day long. Watch out for lightning.

David over the muddy Verdon

Average Rating = 3.00/5 David over the muddy Verdon

Le Galetas is the first climbing area on the North Rim coming from the west. The Verdon was extremely muddy due to 48 hours of rain. The pedalos can be rent 200 yds downstream on the lake shore.

Adrift In a Sea of Rock

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Adrift In a Sea of Rock

One of the 'easy' routes off the third belvedere. A good place to draw a crowd watching both the climbers and the recently introduced vultures soar past.

Of this ultra classic. Climbing here is hard and insanely sustained. It's also some of the best sport climbing on the planet.

As the saying goes... myself seconding the above route name on the rim of the Verdon Gorge. It's about 7b+ i think. One of my favourite sport routes ever! The crux is a bunched up leaning mantle-shelf using a mono pocket - that hurt! Photo by Tom Williams

Les Gorges du Verdon

Average Rating = 3.65/5 Les Gorges du Verdon

I took this picture on my trip back from Sardinia. The french ferries were on strike so I had to delay my departure and go back through Italy. So I decided to cruise through the canyon of the Verdon in which I had never been. It was splendid! I just have to go back there to climb... Photo by Thomas Ribière.
