Aksam Pinari(nearly 1900 mt) is a plateau which is being used as base-camp location for lots of alpine climbs, treks and even for trad wall climbs(Parmakkaya, Lahitkaya, etc.). For the higher alpine climbs, Avcibeli(a higher plateau) can be a better place to camp on. This photo was taken on my way back from Avcibeli, Kaldi climb(3734 mt) in March 2000.

On Demirkazik (3756 m) classic route, you will encounter a slab climb at the very last 500 meters.

Our camp is in aksampinari, emli valley, under the shadow of parmakkaya (meaning fingerrock). There is water from may to maybe july. The visible face is the north face, whereas the easier/shorter classic route goes from behind.

This photo is from the first ascent of Cingillibesik (3400m, IV-V). We never intended to climb to the peak, but rather to the big cave. The photo credit goes to Iskender Igdir, friend and mentor, who we lost descending mt agri (ararat). This image might not mean much to you, but it is THE image putting everything climbing means to me inside the frame.

Aladaglar emli valley, we are trying to reach to the base of Kaldi north ice field on january, trying to make the first winter ascent of the route. This was my second try, and the conditions were almost perfect, but we were not. The week after we bailed, the route is climbed by Ertugrul Melikoglu in a solo style. Three is a charm, we get it 3 years later on our third try.

Last few meters to the ridge on Kaldi. After you reach the ridge, there is only a final climbing/scrambling section, and a short (a couple of meters) knifeedge ridge, and you stand on the summit.
