Crack AttackDave cranks hard through the jams, facing the consequence of a four week break from trad climbing. Despite the short length of this climb, its superb quality makes up for it.

Three clasic linesHere is a bum shot of John starting up the amazing line that is Conquistador, 40 m 21. to the right of Conquistador is Devils Dihedral, probably the best 20 at Frog. To the right of that is the double crack corner capped by a thin roof move that is the 23 test piece, Deliverance. All these routes were freed by Henry Barber in '75.

Taste of Frog Buttress rockA close up of the colourful nature of a section of rock at Frog Buttress, Queensland. The rock is rhyolite, in some places being fairly rough and completely smooth in others. It forms perfect splitter cracks of all sizes, dihedrals, corners, chimneys and almost blank crimpy faces.

"Defeat the pump"....it's exactly what was going through Hugh's mind as he blasted up the direct start to this Frog Buttress climb, Dave Manks Electric Gorilla (21, 5.10d). Then he said it aloud for all to hear just before his 20 foot whipper on the orange alien he is placing here. He landed 4 feet off the ground, upside down and was captured on film by Philbox.

Pokamoko and the Valley Girls 5.13d 35 metresGrant Edser leading the second hardest climb at Frog Buttress, SE Queensland, Australia. Pokamoko And The Valley Girls goes at 5.13d or Oz grade 30/31. There are two very distinct and hard cruxes combined with very thin edging and lots of smears to make this remarkable climb something for the hard men/women to aspire to.

Satans SmokestackSatans Smokestack is a four sided chimney for about 20 metres of its 40 metre length. This climb is sooo unusual that it should be on the tick list of any Frog Buttress visitor. You`ll either love it or hate it, hopefully you`ll love it.

Jambing on Theory 25m 14Dave (kachoong) fist jambing his way up past the Theory flake. Theory is a classic Frog Buttress route at Mt. French in SE Queensland Australia. The Theory flake looks like it is suspended in air but in reality it is bomber, totally locked into position and keyed there.

Brown Corduroy Trousers 5.12dDuncan Steel bridging at the start of the crux moves on Brown Corduroy Trousers *** 25 metre Oz grade 28 or 5.12d/13a. BCT is at Frog Buttress, SE Queensland Australia. Duncan and Grant both got the tick on first of May 2005. 6 hard moves bust through this thin steep face seam before easing to better feet and hands before the anchors. This is a unique test piece that all the hard men have to try themselves on. Climb was put up by Kim Carrigan.
