The King Swing - First AttemptsAaron Reite attempts the King Swing pendulum on The Nose. After several swings, he finds that he must lower out even further before he can get around the arete to the second crack. (Note that this is the "Emperor Swing" variation. The old piton in the first crack was gone, and we thought this would be more "fun" than relying on a few tiny brass offsets.) The photos were taken with a 35mm SLR attached to a spotting scope, and were stitched together by me, with minimal photoshoppage. You can see more at will.is-a-geek.org

The King Swing - Barely made it!Aaron Reite successfully pulls off the King Swing pendulum on The Nose. He took six or seven swings total, lowering out a little more between each one. When he finally did get it, he just barely got his arms around the arete, then clawed his way around to the second crack.
