False Classic Corner is better than...Classic Corner IMHO. A little longer, a little tougher, and a better view on the way up.

Tax Man on IRS Wall, Lost Horse in JTreeA stellar line from bottom to top. Had the whole wall to ourselves, aside from a pair that free-solo'd up to the top of Copenhagen before us and another that went on to Dairy Queen for the afternoon. Photo by Ched. 17 Sep 2006

Commander Cody on IRS Wall, Lost Horse in JTreeClimber going up the left veering crack, then continue past nice face plates to a short vertical thin crack that leads up to more nice plates or crack to the top. Topside belayer is anchored at a ledge about 100' high. Easy free-solo for another 25' to the very top. Photo by Ched. 17 Sep 2006

View of a rock gardenThis is a simple shot from the base of Double-Dog-Leg in Rock Garden Valley. I think it is a nice view although the approach was a little rough but worth the shade. Photo by: David Burlingame

Slow and Steady...Some would say, Dwain is in fact the slowest climber on the planet. To all ye blasphemers and soothsayers I submit to you this photo of a one who is slower than he, a tortoise. Photo by: David Burlingame

Ominous CloudsWhile Matt was starting his rappel after setting up a top rope, the clouds started to roll in. Lucky for us they didn't break but we will see how long the weather holds out. Photo by: David Burlingame

Matt cleaning up cow's headThis is my neighbor, Matt, on his 3rd climb ever. He did very well for climbing in J-tree during mid July, while the temp was 106 F.

Helmet check, bang, bang, bang, works :)This is me, Dave, about 15' up a simple route when I decided to bang my skull off the rock a few times in hopes it would drown out my 2 year old's cheering... I mean screams-of-bloody-murder for daddy to hold her. 2 minutes earlier she only wanted mom but the second I get on the wall.... DADDY! What a cute kid. :)

Squirrel- on belay? This is a ground squirrel that looked as if he wanted to climb with us. After a long debate we decided he needs to buy a harness that fits first, until then he has to stick to highball bouldering. Photo by Katie Burlingame

Uncle Fester, Jane Pauley, Bryant GumbelClimber on Jane Pauley. Bryant Gumbel has the same start but veers right on the diagonal that soon turns straight up. To the left behind the belayer is the very thin crack of Uncle Fester, splitting the prominent buttress block, that leads up to a ledge and easier climbing up the corner above. Further left near the top, a toprope drapes over the bolted face finish of To Air Is Human. 22 Apr 2006

On a Cleaner CrackJack didn't like the looks of Aleister Crowley, the grainy corner to the right. He picked out a cleaner looking crack to the left. Felt like 5.7, according to him. Around the corner to the right is the tall prominent face of the Left Hand of Darkness wall that can be seen from the road, located further back and to the left of Blackjack and Uncle Fester. 22 Apr 2006

Sideview of Lost Horse Wall and WalkoffSideview of climber midway up Bird on a Wire. Also shown is the walkoff down the boulder gully on the far right end of the wall. The dark dead tree silhouetted against the sky near the top of the gully is where a hive of aggressive bees was reported. No trace of them today. 10 Apr 2006
