This is me at the base of a route in Cochise Stronghold. It was a fun climb.

This is a beautiful line at the Stronghold. We were waiting out a little snowstorm to get on this, but ended up getting rainned out. Very sad faces behind the camera.

Mike K. at first of 2 bolts in dihedral that was the crux for the 60m pitch. Two bolt belay at the end made it a fun cruise on mostly easy rock. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 032605.

We had to hunt to find the 2 bolt belay starting the arete that finishes on the R side of the central chimney /gulley finish to Absinthe. A line of bolts heads up for @ 350' up a steep slab. I had to focus and remember I was on a slab a few times; kind of runout but worth the mental pump. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 032605.

Travis proves that a sponsorship doesn't mean you can afford a guidebook to climb the truly classic Moby Dick. A sheet of notebook paper with the route scribbled off someone else's guidebook will do just fine.

We climbed Ewephoria, but, finished up on Too Tough to Die.

This is from the base of the classic climb moby dick. If anyone gets the chance to climb at the western stronghold i highly recommend trying this multi-pitch

5 parties took their turn finding their own line up the sea of granite chickenheads this wintery day.

P1 starts off exposed as you slot canyoneer 100+ vertical ft approach to the pendulum. Then it's 2 pitches of sweet succulent chickenheads! followed by P3: an 'airey traverse" pitch and a short summit pitch to the raps.

This photo is from Feb, 2001, taken by Rob of Massachusetts. I had this black outfit I used to wear while winter climbing in AZ. Usually it was too thin for the shade and boiling in the sun. Days is a classic 3 pitch climb on End Pinnacle in the East Stronghold

When I finally hiked into the area of Cocise Dome I felt like this sight marked the valley of some wonderful climbing utopia where female climbers are waiting for you at the base of the rocks with cold beer. You can see the dots of two tiny climbers smack dab in the middle of Cochise Dome to the right. Kevin and I were soon to become two dots ourselves.

I took this photo from Cochise Dome after Christmas 2003. Maybe somebody out there can tell me about these rocks.
