The plain downhill (front) side.

The sandstone of Vosges is nearly the same as in Pfalz, but the routes are protected by bolts with moderate distances.

View to south-west face of Nonnenfels. In front the ranch Baerenbrunner Hof with Biergarten, where you can buy food. There is also a rock shop.

A well handl crack but the sun was burning merciless. I was feeling like a chicken on a grill.

After the roof starts a fist crack. Very useful a cam # 3.5 !

The thin finger crack above me leads to the belay under the roof near the notch.

"The early bird catch the worm." In this case the shade for 3 pitches, at least.

It's me, wasn't really happy with that alderly strange installation. Thanks God, it was the only one in this route.

After the shortly relaxed 3rd pitch. Now a sustained hard work, espezially at the roof above me. There is no hand rest up to the 4st belay. Following the dihedral you can see already the Ear at the blue sky.

In the Taylor Canyon at the end of a long off road drive in the late afternoon. It took us 2 hours from Moab.

After the junction into the Taylor Canyon back to Moab along the Green River.

This cliff is located in Baerenbrunner Tal near Dahn. One of the populare classic route is on this south face, called "Klosterwand" 5.9! There is on the right corner a populare modern route "Flammende Herzen" 5.10d!

12nd pitch is often wet. End of the yellow steepy zone.

3rd pitch. Hand and foot holds are very slippy because of a lot of repetitors a year.

14th pitch. 25m travers to an easier variant. From here there are 3 possibilities.

1st pitch (of 6) there is the crux of the route. My Partner Christoph has led this pitch.

5th pitch. The fog of Brenta is typical for it but often harmless.

9th pitch of 14. Mostly short pitches because of many steep zick zack climbs.
