Sunset while climbingI love climbing during sunset, and the saddle at the top of P5 offered a great sunset view. By the way, don't follow the laid back chimney in the book on P6 if you want the climb to be 5.6. It's thin on hands and difficult to protect. Just continue up the arete in front of the saddle.

Victory in the dark!We're happily on the summit at 9pm with the last bit of ambient light fading. The anchors are bomber for the rappel and drop right onto a big ledge with a tree for the 2nd rappel. You only need one 60m rope to get off this climb in two 100' raps.

Castle Crags, CA, from the 'Vista Point'This shot was taken from the Scenic Viewpoint at the trailhead to Castle Crags in northern California. It's actually 3 digital pics stitched together and is originally 5000px wide. If people want to see the full size version, I could maybe host it somewhere. I did my best on the stitching, but it's still a little funky. The pic clearly shows Castle Dome and Mt. Hubris. Taken January '05.
