Head Pointing

Average Rating = 3.86/5 Head Pointing "Hanging 30"

The story behind this one... There is an easy highball up the left side of this arete to get to the point at the top. There is also a roof line straight up the middle which was calling my name. About 20 feet up you hit the roof section with good holds but then you have to do a huge chuck over a lip to a hidden jug. Not wanting to back slap from 20 feet I decided to "Head Point" the rig. 2 small wires in the roof with dubious placements and a 20 minute plea to my belayer to let me do it (he didn't want to be involved if the wires snapped or pulled) and I scored the FA! Looking forward to the solo next...

Stolen FA

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Stolen FA

Jeremy steals the FA of this amzing problem right out from under me. I worked on it last year and was psyched to FA it this summer. Jeremy jumped on with me and after some really close attempts got the send. Thats what you get for showing stronger younger climbers your projects!

First Ascent of Super Cruiser

Average Rating = 3.00/5 First Ascent of Super Cruiser

Jeremy onsights the FA of this classic problem. Super steep, yet follows huge jugs. These lead to a commiting mantle over the top. At only V2 you really just need to flex your mind muscle for the send on this one!

Firsts Ascent of Uber Cruiser

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Firsts Ascent of Uber Cruiser

Grahm enjoying the FA of this high ball classic. Even though its overhanging the huge incut holds only make for a V1. Its nice to have a few pads for the 20 foot top out though!

Jeremy about 20 feet up wondering what the hell he is doing up there. Oh ya, those damn jugs keep making you climb higher.

Louie's Ladder Boulder

Average Rating = 3.50/5 Louie's Ladder Boulder

Located near the climbers' camp, this boulder has tons of different variations. Those on the front side are collectively known as "Louie's Ladder" and range from V2-V4. Move around left onto the steeper left face and they're called "Louie's Badder Ladder" and range from V3-V6.

Fun 30 foot traverse problem

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Fun 30 foot traverse problem

Usually steep boulders seem to disapoint with no features, not in this area... This is a shot of the opening moves a 30 foot traverse problem. Climbs out of cellar like depression then traverses on a rail system to an obvious top out. Incredible how featured the granite is up here!

The Gun Powder Traverse

Average Rating = 3.00/5 The Gun Powder Traverse

A pumpy and technical traverse problem. Thin Rails appear and dissapear making for big reaches and cool gymnastic moves. The steep angle pumps your arms and the thin feet makes sure you keep the weight on em.

Grahm on the opening crossthrough move

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Grahm on the opening crossthrough move

This photo is of a new bouldering area located on top of Gray Eagle Dome in the Shuteye Pass area. 4 wheel drive delivers you to the middle of a large group of steep and highly featured boulders. Many FAs await, wth an incredible view of the Sierra crest and flat landings this place is super fun. Can't wait to put more up!
