Anybody know this climb? This is me leading at Smith Rocks. The route wasn't in the guidebook but was to the left of "Ring of Fire." It felt like an easy 10 and was pretty fun! Anybody know the name/rating?

A bit of a fuzzy shot but by far the best part of the route. Don't get suckered into stepping onto the ledge on the right or you will have an awful time getting back on the route.. Good stuff..

This route is way wild.. it looks like it would be a hell of a lot easier if one were to climb the arete from the right side but what's the fun in that.. Flailing around the the corner looks much better..

I had been having trouble pulling the roof on previous redpoint trys. On a whim, I changed the way I had been trying the roof and pulled through with ease to finally redpoint the route.

This route is at Smith rock. The route is about 100' with 9 clips. The lower 35' is small crimps and pockets with little feet and a small roof to pull at the end. Standing on the ledge of the small roof you can get a complete no hands rest. Then begins the fun part. a akward move left and onto the 11a so called slab with 3 bolts for the next 50'. Then the 2nd roof with a blind reach directly overhead always just a couple of inchs out of reach. Pull the roof and your home free as long as you stay focused. This picture I whipped off, 1 move short of the 3rd clip on the slab, Judge for yourself how big the fall was. I can tell you I had time to check my knot and look to see exactly where I was going to land.

According to the Smith book supplement, this is an un-named 10b, just left of Ring of Fire. Fun climb!!!

THis is a friend on the king swing at Smith. We set this up at the end of the day to have a little fun and it was worth the half hour to set up.

Walking by I watched this anonymous climber struggle on Scarface (5.14a). I was able to catch him in midair with the Scarface line in clear view.

The third day of the gathering at Smith Brody finally got into it, and was bouldering pretty hard, he was also getting used to me always pointing my camera at someone, and stopped "posing" for pics.

I took this shot with a long exposure time (on a digital) as we were hiking out. Can't see a dang thing on the rocks, but the sky was just gorgeous.

This is my SECOND trip up this climb for the day. I talked my partner through the steps of cleaning gear, and she ended up leaving two beaners up there, and I didn't notice until after the rope was pulled. Oooops. The crux comes just after the 4th bolt. It is a mental bender, but moves real good.

~T~ was sqeeling so loud while she swung on wyoclimbers rope! It was so funny I could hardly stand still to take the pics. Next time we're gonna do the Scarface Swing!

Ring of Fire is the hardest thing ~T~ ever has done! And she did it really good, with two short hangs, and nice footwork. ~T~ uses her eyes and feet really well together!

I thought the way the shadows and colors was so cool when I panned up to see what wyoclimber was doing. I am starting to appreciate Smith more and more each time I go.

This was Brody and me refusing to "look this way and smile" when ~T~ had my camera. It turned out to be a really great photo! I will keep the print on my wall with all my other kids, and friends, and kids friends. Submitted as low even though Brody is bouldering.
