I believe he was actually showing some others how to do this problem, if you look carefully you'll see the chalk rings dictating where feet and hands can go, and the 92, 93 indicating this is was problem 92 and 93. Oh by the way he won the comp and the series.

Another visiting Japanese climber trying his luck on a Baring head boulder as part of the national bouldering comp. Only allowed to use the chalk ringed holds, this was artificially taken to an NZ V6 problem if I remember rightly. These crazy rock carvings are done by the sea as this is at the beach but the rock is extremely solid.
