Fire on the mountainComing back down off Mt. Tom I couldn't resist taking this shot of nature's cycle.
Mt. Tom is the largest peak seen from Bishop.

Swimhole streamOn a rainy day what is there to do but hike and get muddy? Checked out the swimhole hoping for some serious water. Seemed calm like this shot.

Wash away any traceSwimhole is pure adventure bouldering. You get hurt out here and a simple day of bouldering becomes epic. Rainy shot of a boulder being washed away of human contact.

Swimhole mini epicThe guide tells you to stay away from the swimhole during rain. We disregarded this threat and felt a muddy hike was in order. No problems on the way up through the switchbacks. After our hike however, was a completely different story. Rain came down hard and softened up the clay road. Good ole Sunny gave it a go in freeway treads but to no avail. After slamming into an imbankment and creating a deep rut, (AND with no bars on the cell) we figured it's time for another hike. But after piling MANY rocks to fill the rut, we were able to regroup and s-l-i-d-e our way back home. Victory was ours!

Yosemite historyThese are the oldest rocks in Yosemite. Couldn't resist touching history but still respect the frailty that comes with time. Would not want to go any further.

Time to move onI was dropped on lead about 28ft that took me to the deck by some idot that didn't know how to use a gri-gri. This also made me an idot for not checking if he knew how to use one. Extensive bruises and a fractured hip was my reward for attempting 5.11c back in 2000. This pic is after sucessfully climbing this personal line in January of 2004. Time to move on....

Itsy Bitsy Spider V2This was taken after topping out. All I have to say is if you haven't tried Grand Junction's "Religious Experience - Wrath of God" salsa, you have no idea what your bouldering potential is.
