Philbox on his trolleylineThis photo is to show how Philbox sets himself up to take photos at a few of the crags around SE Queensland. With his 100m static line tensioned between the top of the cliff and the bottom he attaches to it via a pulley. He sets himself on a rappel line and uses a prussik to gain distance out from the cliff towards the "trolleyline".

200m Slabby route potentialThere's a lot of rock on this side of Beerwah, and most of it would be unclimbed.

Taste of Frog Buttress rockA close up of the colourful nature of a section of rock at Frog Buttress, Queensland. The rock is rhyolite, in some places being fairly rough and completely smooth in others. It forms perfect splitter cracks of all sizes, dihedrals, corners, chimneys and almost blank crimpy faces.

"Defeat the pump"....it's exactly what was going through Hugh's mind as he blasted up the direct start to this Frog Buttress climb, Dave Manks Electric Gorilla (21, 5.10d). Then he said it aloud for all to hear just before his 20 foot whipper on the orange alien he is placing here. He landed 4 feet off the ground, upside down and was captured on film by Philbox.

Roof cityComparing to the classic Arapiles climb Kachoong, the sandstone roof of Pendulus extends 3.5 meters out, 60 meters off the deck. Instead, Dave (kachoong) blasts off the belay through crimpy 22 (5.11a) moves ready to attack the roof proper. Photo by Brendan ? 18-Jun-05.

Kachoong on thin iceThe Thang in fairly thin (M6+) conditions. The ice on this day was thick enough to accept 3 stumpy screws and then a final longer screw near the anchors at 30m. (Photo taken 18-Jan-98)

It's getting thinner Jamie! You can find all sorts of ice routes at Blue Lake in the snow covered hills of Australia. Here Jamie picks his way up a 20m ice flow, which quickly becomes a thin veneer. He incorporates a few mixed moves and plugs in a wire to run out the top 6m.
