Joanne and I carried a small pack that felt heavier as the pitches flew by. This one marked the half way point on the route. It's a long and stellar fingers to hands crack. Heading up pitch 5 with 12 more pitches to go. I just fell a couple times on the previous pitch and was glad to watch her motor on. The top of pitch 9 by the pine tree, is visible. The wall is steep and remains so til the last pitch. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 051405.

We did the whole route, the previous two pitches had been worked by Jeremy and crew. I am just getting into the 3rd pitch, hands to small roof to ow. Definitely the fun stuff. This route takes everything from smallest gear to a #6 friend. Jeremy S. took on 032304.

We had to hunt to find the 2 bolt belay starting the arete that finishes on the R side of the central chimney /gulley finish to Absinthe. A line of bolts heads up for @ 350' up a steep slab. I had to focus and remember I was on a slab a few times; kind of runout but worth the mental pump. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 032605.

A beautiful spring day with wonderful friends, Joanne and Kal. We sprinted up the 700' route with a leisurely start and were down way before dark. Just hate the standard raps, very tiresome. Sonso45 took 032005 on nikon digital.

I straightened the angle on Mark's lead of pitch 4; we both put bolts on lead on the pitch. It looks slabbier on the other photo. It is thin feet and awkward handholds that grab your attention. sonso45 took on nikon digital 020305.

Exciting climbing and reasonable pro make this a great day out in sedona. The route gets you to the top of a 500' dome near soldier pass road; called japhead in tim toula's guide. Four pitches of fun, one had to be completely bolted, not this one. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 020305.

The day we did it, we saw these two unknown climbers on it before us. The leader is a bit more than half way to the end of the second and usually last pitch. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 092002.

A great day with friends on Courthouse Rock. Laurel and Alex on a cool route. It has varied climbing for several pitches, most of it good rock and some not so great but not bad enough to avoid. Just focus on all your holds and climb on. The crux is the roof just above Alex's helmet, a small roof with a #3 cam placement. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 102403.

I had a great wet cold day and cold climbing. It warmed up enough to finish the FA on this snowy day. I am passing the second piece, a small nut and thinking of the overhung leaning dihedral above. Even the ledges felt scary. Had a great time doing it all. It is a solid piece of rock, thanks to Jon. Shelley took on nikon digital 120404.

We had a beautiful day in the rain in central arizona. Hog Canyon is a gorgeous place, the area is just huge, and it needs tlc. This route has a stellar dihedral and an awesome setting. Mark has just climbed past the second crux in a misty rain. Rare for arizona, nice to have some weather. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 110704.

We had a fine fall day in northern AZ. The arete is done, dust still on the face. The pro is bolts and nuts, cams. LaurelJA is coming up the middle of the 2nd pitch, nearly at the new bolt. Clean and @ 250' tall for 3 pitches. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 100804.

We hiked down canyon to check out the huge spire we saw from above. It looked to be @ 150' tall. The rock looked intimidating. We are looking to thread some cracks together. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 091704.

One fine july day last year we sat out a storm for an hour or so and we heard a roar that brought us to this sight. It shot out to the far end of the pond. Glad we were on top looking down. Sonso45 took on nikon digital.

Great route, only one we climbed twice on our trip. Typically steep w/large flakes to use and a no hands rest half way. I would do it again. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 050104.

I loved this route, first time on it and it spit me off at the 1st large hueco. My knee popped loud enough to sound like a gun. Finished with a limp. Jeff took on nikon coolpix 042904.

mandrake leads on the green lichen covered rock on EGG's crack. Solid pro and neverending cool moves make this a very pleasant outing. The route ends up at the dead grey tree visible on the skyline. MR took on nikon digital 032004.

Sonso45 is 20' from the crux roof and the end to a beautiful climb. Mandrake and I both thought it a climb well worth doing again. The route eats pro like butter. Slowdive took on digital 032004.

Loved the wide part, more holds than you think appear, at a couple spots you have to use good OW technique. Great rock, couple stacked blocks sounded and stepped easily around, need a crowbar to try and pry em out. Sonso45 and Mandrake on FA; Slowdive took on digital 032004.

I climbed this stellar four pitch crack today and am still totally jazzed. Solid jams and edges make this a friendly line. Sonso45 took on nikon digital 032004.
