Description:

Start 30 feet right of Deep Throat [DT]. Climb a steep left angling slab to a junction with DT, which is followed for a couple of moves. A great hand crack leads up the narrow facet on your right. Easier on the left [9], and harder but way more fun on the right edge [10a]. Above a second left leaning slab, with delicate incuts, leads to the chains on DT. Since this route flows left--right--left some INTELLIGENT USE of runners is required. A surprisingly easy climb through some steep and imposing terrain. Although named Deep Thought, it is doubtful if any of the first ascensionists have ever experienced one. Another jewel in the Waterline crown.

Descent Options:

Rap/lower from anchors.
