I found the cruxes to be near bottom on the slabby climbing and I'm not ashamed to say I think these routes are a bit more difficult than they are rated; or maybe it's just the slippery DL quartzite? Regardless, you couldn't ask for a more beautiful day and perhaps shaded setting to spend a few hours messing around with some friends on the rocks of Devil's Lake. A few tourist hikers poked their heads over the ledge near Balanced Rock to see what we were up to, not too bad and or obnoxious considering the holiday traffic and location of this particular crag.
