Description:

Grade II or III. Climbs the easily visible double cracks to the left of the two chimney systems in the middle of Haystack's west face. Starts at the bottom of the Grassy Goat Trail, which is the easiest descent. Over 60m of easy 5th reaches the proper bottom of the cracks at a ledge with a small tree. The crux pitch is up high, after a nice belay at some slung boulders. A nut tool for the leader is useful in some places for cleaning vegetated cracks.
