Rock
small nuts for the start...bolts the rest of the way
|
|
Description:
This route starts up the left side of a big flake at the base of the wall (approx. 50 ft. right of Thin Slice). A seam heads through some questionable rock to the right off the top of the flake. This is the crux. You used to be able to get a cam in here, but the rock has broken over the years and you can't anymore. Hope for a tiny nut. Anyways...head right and up to the first bolt (35 ft. to the ground from there) and continue up the fun face above to a belay mid-slab. Continue up to the big ledge and a three bolt belay. Then up a bit and traverse right across the face to the top. This was originally rated 5.8, but some folks think it's harder now. Either way, it's definitely scarier.

Ascent Note
Good route and by no means overly protected with bolts. There is a new bolt as one steps of the large boulder , you will probably come close to hitting the ground or swing back into the boulder if you screw up before reaching the second clip. Great climb, keeps you on 'edge' the entire route
