4 out of 5 stars Best roped climb at Handley

Excelent line, continuous big, fun moves. Holds going over the lip are completely hidden (enhanced divots with no way to know which are the good ones without beta), but still great moves.

3 out of 5 stars Cool problem

The moves on this are actually all really good, surprisingly so actually. It's a shame it's not a few moves longer, but ah well.

Plus, it's probably the only 100% natural line at Handley's, so all the more reason to hit it!

5 out of 5 stars Polished

Good climb, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if it weren't so water polished. Still enjoyable though.

5 out of 5 stars Excelent climb

Great climb, last 20 feet show every new generation of climbers just how bad-ass Muir was.

4 out of 5 stars First real mountaineering experience

An excelent first experience ascending a mountain over snow and ice. Expansive views, good conditions, a classic glissade, and a long decent after an early moring gives a true mountaineering experience.

Good route, awkward chimney mokes to get off the ground though.

5 out of 5 stars Fun climb

The last pitch is the best, beautiful dihederal with all the holds you could ask for.

Routefinding was interesting as I didn't go all the way to the back of the mountain, instead I cut up a 3rd class scree gulley after passing the first shoulder. I did some random traversing, but managed to find a route up through the 4th class above the giant scree field. I later learned that the person to summit after I did fell on the descent and perished, a powerful reminder that even on 4th class you have to be careful, especially on the way back down.

The first pitch was beautiful, perfect hand jams the whole way. The second pitch was much more technical and it was more important to reach high and get your hand in the right slots. The crux was high on the second pitch, but really fun, if draining. Beautiful weather for a day of winter climbing.

It was fun, each pitch was varied and you could utilize all sorts of techniques, from slab to finger jams, to face climbing, to mantling.
