Almost an onsight, Darn.
Takes bigger gear, I could have used one more #4.5. I used a variety of techniques from jamming to lie back and stemming.

Good lord, we bush whacked across from the corner. Wrapped off some loose flake down 60 feet of moss that was dripping then down some wet chute. That was just to get to the climb.
Once we got there none of us could pull the boulder moves off the ground. So back up and out the climbers trail.

I thought it pro'd well enough. I stopped at the crux reched around the lie back and plopped in an alien that was bommer. You've got to love those aliens and tricams help as well, Maybe 3 good pieces were used in all.

yes, 5 years after doing this route with my brother Scott, I finally red pointed this route. Excellent Trad route, my first 10a trad RP.
I think learning a little handjamming technique really helps with this one.

Lol.. Not even close to a RP.
Fell once or twice at 3rd bolt and like 6 times at the last bolt trying to go straight up over the lip. Jeez, I just needed to go right a bit into much easier stuff..
Definately feels more 10.b/c ish. Especially after some of the holds have broken at bolt 3.

Awesome Crack climb
After warming up on Tree Beard. This was the climb for me. After racking up and having a good look at the route. I went for it, this was a great lead and onsight for me. Definately felt more like a solid 5.9 (not 5.9-) especially the crux, but as this is only my third hand jam crack climb take this with a grain of salt.
Thanks Allan for the great belay. Definately the best climb of the weekend.

Nice to learn
We talked to a nice couple in the morning. He was kind enough to show Allan and myself some crack climbing techniques.
After that I cruised up this with nary a pause, cleaning the route for Allan! I thought it was a nice line especially to learn hand and foot jamming technique on.
As for ratings I'd consider this a 5.7 or 5.7+, after given that sams throne, to thick to navigate is a 5.8- which was way harder than this.
