3 out of 5 stars Trims Creek Route

-20 Degree temperatures, good snow conditions, watch for some mad cornices with 2000' of near-vertical exposure on the summit ridge. Good 2 day trip.

Great conditions for fall... mainly a glacial slog with some crevasse navigation, hoever the last bit to the summit was really steep in rotten quality snow/ice.

POOR PROTECTION. We found some fun little runnels, rated around 5.6 - 5.7? They would've been pretty easy, but the protection was extremely sketchy at best. I used almost an entire set of stoppers and one tri-cam on the middle route. The crux of the route was a small chimney with NO options for protection. It started out with a small featureless slab (with my last stopper placed about 6 feet below me, luckily it was one of the best placements of the entire lead). The protection may have been bad, but there were some really fun stemming moves throughout the route. I enjoyed it.

I loved this route for some reason. Nice little dyno in it was a blast. The moves look WAY simpler from the base (i.e. most of the "holds" we saw were useless). Fun little 5.9.

Pretty basic snow gully, we took a side gully near the top which proved to be the Crux of the route when we hit a 70-75 degree headwall of ice that led to the summit ridge. Nice day, nice climb.
