Areas of rock climbing in Tanzania are Usambara mountains, Lushoto, Ngorongoro highlands and Mount Kilimanjaro.
Rock climbing on Mount Kilimanjaro is mainly on western breach Lemosho route and other places.
Heim Glacier and Western Breach: Grade I, 6 hours. This is the easiest rock-climbing way on the south-west side of the mountain.
Mountaineering on kilimanjaro has best perfomance and experience on machame route.
Usually minimum 6 days is needed to complete climb kilimanjaro to summit and back down to mweka gate for transfer to Hotel in Moshi. Other climbers climb kilimanjaro on 7 days to get more time for acclimatization.

Machame route is second most popular Kilimanjaro trek route after Marangu route. Machame route has very beautiful forest, machame route is very good for acclimatization, scenic traverse to Barafu through Shira plateau volcano.
On Machame route, mountain climbers can summit through easier path of barafu hut or through challenging arrow glacier.
There is option of overnight at Karanga Crater camp if taking 7 days machame route.
