Now Patagonia stuff is expensive, but at sale prices I go for it. I don't mind paying a little more to support their pursuit of low impact to the environment, plus I find their clothing fits well and stands up to a lot of abuse.

caughtinside wrote: hey billy. if you don't like it, don't buy it. duh. Preaching to the choir there. But you have a good point, if others want to pay $115 for a "1/2 priced deal" ie, a polypro jacket that cost Patagucci $7 to have made in China that is being sold everywhere else for $20 then by all means they should be encouraged to do so as it propels our consumer economy and stuffs bucks into Yvons pocket. Whooohhh Hoooo! Big sale, you go girl!

Almost 1/2 off Metolius Fat cams. AND you are supporting the company which paid for the testing out of their own pocket which led to the last Alien recall and undoubtedly saved some lives. http://www.mountaingear.com/...G/item/902479/N/1014 BTW, they have awesome service AND like 5+ more pages of gear sales.

Um, I'd like less range please! Sorry bill. I just don't have the time to care about which companies are the cool ones to support.

mgear.com has the dyneema tricams for $11.93, .5-2.0. that makes them cheaper than buying them in a set, or buying the older version in a set.. which I found odd, but quickly jumped on. http://www.mountaingear.com/...e/MG/item/111349/N/0

Maybe not exactly a "hot" deal, but it's at least luke warm: as of 9:30 am (Eastern) ClimbOmatic has the #1 Link Cam for $84 (plus shipping). Edited: because it turns out that not everyone lives in my time zone...

I'm not pushing this website because I have never used it so can't recommend it, but it has the Link Cam#1 for $80 including shipping (Free shipping on all orders over $55.00 ) And it is not a One Day Deal. FYI via Froogle... http://www.tradrack.com/...php?products_id=1117

Plus... its not climbomatic. I've purchased a few items through there now and all have taken weeks (the last one never even shipped until I reminded him). Also, the guy running it seems to be getting really stressed lately, as seen by his rants in the forums about the customers who constantly whine (and rightfully so) asking where their stuff is. I just have a feeling this site's gonna go under.

I am not the most observant, but it does look to have changed formats again recently. Could be the same owner with a new front end, or he could have sold it to someone else.

It's definitely easier to change the look of your front end than to change management practices. There's nothing like a new look to say, "Hey look, I'm all new and improved. Try me!" Followed later by "But don't bug me for your order 'cause I'm still out climbing..." Actually I would be interested in other opinions about TradRack.com, because I often see good prices from them, but would like to know at what cost...

I just placed an order with tradrack.com, so we'll see how it goes. The site screwed up a lot of things with my order, and scared the crap out of me that there was going to be a duplicate order. It took a day and a half for them to respond, but when they did respond, I think we got the issue cleared up. They will be shipping my order out Friday, and I'll let you know when I get the order and how it turns out for me.

Sorry, I suppose I should have replied to bent gate's post instead of yours. Is bent gate related to bentgate.com?

Lol, no problems, I don't really pay attention to the reply stuff either. I was also wondering if bent_gate was affiliated with that site. I just had a transaction with them for one of the Aliens that tradrack.com was missing, and the package got here faster than any other company I have ordered from.
