slipper protectors for climbing shoes

I saw climbers on competition wear some kind of slippers on their climbing shoes until they get to the wall, so it protects the sole.
Do you know if this can be bought somewhere or this is something homemade?

I don't know what they were wearing, but you can always try these:

Not quite sure why though. In a competition things need to be moving fast, so they have people put the shoes on before they walk to the wall, so they are ready as soon as the last person is done. But in real life, just take those shoes off between climbing. problem solved!

Im pretty sure this is just to keep the rubber clean and free of any dirt until they get on the wall. I wouldn't bother. Some people just wipe their shoes off with a towell before they climb in a competition.
