Castle Butte Illusion
A bit of a selling ploy I'd say: any travel mag on the province wil give you this similiar view(cool) remote bluff on the flatlands, but, actually you will drive 6km up a large clay scraped valley and this whatever hoodoo will appear. As you drive past it, take the right fork at the forks, the road hooks back, as seen here, and it looks like the only thing on the land!
Castle Butte is 200 feet high and takes about 5-10 minutes to summit from the parking lot. Go up the left gully and down the right-very smooth loose clay. Summit is 40m long a nd about 3-5feet wide, so it is kinda neat I guess.
Over right of the photo about 3/4km are 2 hillsides of boulders. The first visible from the parking lot has about 20 but only about 4-5 look any good. The far hillside has a taller set and is only visible from the dirt road coming in-they look like fingers and are red sandstone I think. this is likely private property though so it may be too bad.
