About Carl Wark (OS):

Carl Wark is a flat topped summit midway between Higgar Tor and the Toad's Mouth Bridge on the A625. Facing east, it gets the early morning sun. Because of its limited height and length, it has failed to attract the number of climbers that frequient the other crags in the valley, but there are some impressive routes, and the crag offers solitude for the climber wanting to get away from the crowds. Sections are listed from left to right.
Nearest town or city: Hathersage
Directions: OS GR SK 259 815 Alt. 380m
Carl Wark is usually approached as for Burbage South. About 300 feet north of the gate, a path branches off left towards the crag. Cross the Burbage Brook, then head straight up to the crag following a well worn footpath.
