About Leysin:

A year-round mountain sport resort! With International Colleges. And old mansions. Many "towers" over the city and some smaller crags. You'll find multi pitch trad/sport routes, low sport and TR routes, and wonderful hikes. ANd a great snow in winter time with a great view over the ALps and Le Lac Léman.

This town became famous for climbers when John Harlin (American) and Dougal Haston (Scotish) established many FAs there in the 60ies. John even founded an international climbing school in the city. To learn more about John and his team's adventures (or rather should I say tragedy as it all ended quickly for him after a frayed rope let go on the Eiger's North Face), read the new exciting book 'Boys of Everest' by Clint Willis.
