About Gogarth-Main Cliff(OS):

This cliff is fantastic if you are fit and have big arms. It dominates the whole coastline and offers huge routes up to 400 feet long. Most of the routes are classic and recieve afternoon sun. All are at least two pitches, and a retreat from most belays will put you in the sea, so be solid at the grade you are climbing, or it could be a long day! Avoid being at the base two hours either side of high tide. About 100 routes with many E4-E6 climbs. NO EASY WAY OUT!!!
Nearest town or city: Holyhead
Directions: OS114--GR215/835 2 miles west of Holyhead. From South Stack, take the trail towards a small mountain and some radio towers, after 1.5 miles the clif should become visible on your left. Descend down a gully by some boulders...look for a pile of backpacks!!! Head down and cross beneath the Upper Tier, then head down the steep bank to rocks and down to sea level. If you look up and do not see a 400 foot cliff hanging over you, then you must be lost!
