About Great Zawn (OS):
Bird nesting restriction on the left side (looking in) of the cliff from March 1st to August 15th. The restriction does not affect most of the climbing, which is approached by rappell (best to leave the rope in place). The climbing here is is very good, and on good solid rock in an impressive position. About 15 routes in the lower Extreme grades, 150 to 500 feet long, with the easiest being HVS, and that is the "escape route"! Most of the routes are classics, with the only drawback being that the cliff is north facing. |
