About Eagles Nest:

Closest place in Halifax for route climbing. The routes are short and few are of high quality. It is an urban area so the sparkle of broken glass awaits, but also means you can get to it by means of public transportation (or near it at least). Rock is a little different than most crags around Halifax having a finer grain to it.
Nearest town or city: Bedford
Directions: From Halifax, take the Bedford Hwy into Bedford and turn right (go under the railroad tracks) onto Shore Drive. From Dartmouth, take Hwy 7 north and then the Bedford exit (get in the left lane) onto Dartmouth Rd. Take the first left onto Eaglewood Drive. MAIN CLIFF: Turn off Eaglewood Drive onto Snowy Owl Drive and look for a short dead end street of of Snowy Owl Drive (there is an Admiral's Cove Park sign and trail at the end of it). Park here and follow the overly marked trail for five minutes or so until you can see a beautiful view of the Bedford Basin. Many variations to the trail take you down a few levels to reach the top of the climbing cliff (the cliff faces south). ** SOURCE: "Nova Scotia Rock (A Climber's Guide)" by Sean Cassidy PG 38
