About Le Gros Bonnet:

A granite dome with a couple of multi-pitch routes worth doing. It is located 4km past the entrance of ZEC Batiscan-Nelson ($6-per-car entrance fee) in the Bras du Nord river valley. The river at the foot of the Gros Bonnet has very nice places for a swim.
Nearest town or city: ZEC Batiscan-Nelson
Directions: Drive to Saint-Raymond, cross the river and turn right on Mgr. Vachon to head north on the west shore of the Saint-Anne river (road changes name to Rang du Nord.) At 4.5 km., turn left on Rang Saguenay. This road crosses over to the Bras-du-Nord river valley, eventually becoming unpaved. Continue to the entrance post for the ZEC Batiscan-Nelson. 4km further you will see the cliffs appearing to your left, the road descends suddenly, giving you better views of the slabs to the right.
