About Purinton Creek:

Purinton Creek (sometimes called Puritan Creek) is a nice, sunny south facing crag about 90 miles north of Anchorage, offering mostly short, one-pitch routes with a short approach. Almost all of the routes are bolted, but a small trad rack will come in handy to protect those blank or scary sections. An added benefit of the area is the incredible view from the top of the cliff. Once you reach the top of your route, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Chugach Range and the Matanuska Valley. Don't forget to belay your partner!!! Most of the routes are of good quality, but the original names are unknown.
Nearest town or city: Chickaloon
Directions: Head north from Anchorage on the Glenn Highway to Palmer and out towards Sutton and Chickaloon. About 12 miles past Chickaloon (right after Weiner Lake) will be two cliffs on the north side of the road, just before you cross Purinton Creek. Park in the lot by the creek or on the wide shoulder just below the crags.
