About Carcase Boulders:

Groom Creek quality Granite Boulders in the Prescott National Forest at Goldwater Lake with one of the coolest boulders in the Prescott Area. Developmental efforts undertaken by Bart Strege primarily with efforts from Kayle Koeppen and GP Salvo.
Nearest town or city: Prescott
Directions: From I-17 take the Highway 69 Exit and head west into Prescott. Turn left on Mt. Vernon St. and drive south approximately 3 miles, this road becomes Senator Highway. Turn right into Goldwater Lake Recreation Area. Follow the lakeside trail East. Look for a wooden fence near the East most point of the lake and cross it. Walk 100 yards off of the trail to the Carcase Boulder. You should be able to see the tip of the boulder pile from the fence.

Access Issues: $2 Parking Fee, park closes at Dusk so no evening sessions unless you park above the Lake further up Senator Highway and navigate your way through the forrest, this is a less desirable approach however possible.
