About Checkerboard Area:

Located directly across the road from the main Buttermilks Area and Iron Man Traverse. Regarded as one of Bishop's most amazing boulder problems.
Approach: From the turnaround at the end of the short side of Buttermilk road, wlak down a steep slope, cross a stream via a log bridge, and head up the other side.
Approach Time: From the road, about a 10 min hike.

Access Issues: Same as the main Buttermilk Area. Leave no trace.
Rock Type: Quartzite
Type of Climbing: Bouldering
