1.1 miles outside of the park's 29 Palms Entrance, 3.2 miles south of Highway 62. closest pullout at Wellock Rd doesn't allow parking. park at next pullout just a short walk down the road toward town. can see from the road the big rock on hilltop with prominent roof. west of the road and up the rock valley. about a 2 hr hike on the approach
