Take Highway 108 about 12 miles east of the Strawberry lodge, or about 1.5 miles east of the Mill campground. If you reach the Donnell overlook you've gone too far. Take road 5NO6 on your left. You will follow this road until it ends--at the first intersection take the left branch and at the second, take the right. Follow this until a Berm and park near good camping. High clearance. Hike over the berm and down a dirt road. After about five minutes, turn right through the manzanita on a vague trail, which gets more vague as it crosses granite. Once hitting the granite head somewhat right--you will see some foot prints in a dirt area. head vaguely in this direction and locate a trail, which drops down and right into a drainage. Cross the creek on a now distinct trail, and head down the gorge which is full of routes. The first wall on the right is the Bienvenidos wall, home to about 50 routes to four pitches. Some fully bolted, others mixed or trad. Further down, the gorge turns left and becomes more rocky. The wall on the left is the Sunny Side, on the Right is the Shady side. There are more excellent routes to about 500 ft. |
