About Apathy Buttress:

Apathy Buttress is a 700 ft jumble of interconnected cliffs on the north side of Tenaya Canyon about 0.5 miles past the Mirror Lake trailhead. One of the least known, but among the best, straight-in cracks in Yosemite is located here, "Water Babies" (140 ft, 5.11a). Likewise, one of the nastiest flared hands OW roof cracks you'll ever have the misfortune of climbing is also located here, "Valley Syndrome" (5.11c). Fortunately, for the less masochistically inclined, there is a perfect straight in thin crack on the slab to the left of it, "Destination Zero" (5.11a). Beautiful, especially in the spring, with nice views of Washington Column and numerous waterfalls.
Nearest town or city: Yosemite Valley
Directions: Hike east from the Mirror Lake trailhead for about 0.5 miles, and cross the first series of creek beds. These are followed straight up the hill until a traverse right leads to the base of the left side of the wall where "Water Babies" (5.11a) is located off a broad flat ledge.
