About The Laboratory:

I recently found this boulder while bushwacking, but come to find out, it is surprisingly easy to get to. It is really cool, and as far as I know it is not in any guidebook or website...? I chose to call it the "laboratory," but correct me if it already has been established. The best way to get there is to park in the "West trail head" lot (the second lot on the left after the N entrance). Take the trail down towards the river until you get to the "T", and instead of going right or left, just follow the little ravine straight down to the river, cross the river on the rocks or branch, and head straight up the hill on the opposite side for about 150 feet (or go around to the left). The boulder is back in the trees, with a face about 50 feet long facing west, and then a corner and the other face facing south about 30 feet long. It varies in height, but at least 12-15 feet in some parts (it's huge)-- the overhanging corner, seen in the pictures, is the shortest part). 5 min. approach. Everything on the left is insanely hard, with high, slopey pockets and no footholds (V14 traverse??). Everything on the right is tough, tall, slightly slabby. Right in the middle is an awesome overhanging arete with at least two different routes up it (on the left side, and on the right side).
